Have I told you all how much I love thrifting? I didn’t erally realize how I would like going into a place, some with some unique smells, and finding gems or some potential gems. These series of RE-Newal articles I bring will show how I bring new life to items found in thrift stores or around my house.
So, I found this wonderful wooden pentagon-shaped bowl fo $2.50 at Goodwill Selma, 1011 Furniss Avenue
Selma, AL 36701. I wanted to give it an undated look. I looked on Pinterest for ideas and came up empty. So, I decided I would paint it my favorite color at the moment. It is called Krylon Paint+Prime Sea Glass. I LOVE this color. This paint color, had a satin finish which gives it a smooth finish with soft sheen to it. There was no runnage (is that a word?). The can said that it would dry in 10 minutes or less and it really did. I would definitly be using this brand again. I got it from Wal-Mart.
So, before painting, I took a mild surface cleaner and sprayed it on a cloth and wiped the whole bowl.
I did two coats upside first. I waited 15-20 minutes between each coat.
I did the same process with the upright side.
THE Finished Product.
SO what do you think of my first upcycle project???
Until Next Time,
DaniGee
Looking good!
